Biography Otto Ernst Guttentag was born in Stettin, Pomerania, Germany, into a family with three generations of physicians before him. He studied for the degree "Candidate in Medicine" at Marburg, Jena and Heidelberg and for the title "Physician" at Munich, Berlin and Halle.
